Trump Endorses Netanyahu Ahead of Israel Election

President Donald Trump delivered a powerful late intervention in Israeli politics on Sunday, handing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu his “Complete and Total Endorsement” just nine days before Israelis head to the polls on October 27.

The announcement, posted to Truth Social in the early hours of Monday, carried Trump’s unmistakable style — all capital letters, exclamation points, and blunt warnings about what could happen if Israel chooses someone else.

“A Great Warrior Prime Minister”

Trump praised Netanyahu in glowing terms, calling him “a Great Warrior Prime Minister, and an even greater Partner for Peace in combatting the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The president described Netanyahu as someone who has been “Strong, Brave, and Brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition, including that coming from even Israel, itself.” He added: “Despite all of that, he has endured and, in fact, he has thrived!”

Netanyahu had eagerly sought the endorsement of his longtime ally for weeks, while his rivals had reportedly urged Trump to stay out of the contest — a sign of how much weight the president’s verdict carries in Israeli politics.

A Warning About Iran

The endorsement came with a sharp warning aimed squarely at Israeli voters. Trump argued that without Netanyahu, America would have to take on more of the burden in confronting Iran itself.

“If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so,” Trump wrote.

The message ties directly into the ongoing tensions with Iran, with reports suggesting the next phase of conflict could come soon. Trump signaled that having a willing partner in Israel shapes how much of that fight falls on American forces.

A Longtime Alliance, New Test

Trump and Netanyahu have formed a close bond over years of cooperation, but the relationship has faced strain in recent months as their strategies in the Middle East diverged — particularly around the Iran conflict.

That’s what made Sunday’s endorsement notable: it was a coveted boost Trump had reportedly withheld for months. Because of the president’s popularity in Israel, analysts say the endorsement could genuinely move votes in an election where every seat matters.

Netanyahu thanked Trump for his “enormous support” and said they would “share the task together.”

Election Day Draws Near

With Israel voting on October 27, the race remains extremely tight. Trump’s dramatic intervention raises the stakes of an already high-stakes contest, as voters weigh whether to keep Netanyahu at the helm or hand power to his rivals.

One thing is certain: nine days out, the world’s most powerful political voice just made it very clear who he’s rooting for.
