Sydney Sweeney Turns Home Alone Into a Holiday Ad for Her Syrn Brand
Sydney Sweeney is getting into the Christmas spirit early — and she’s bringing Kevin McCallister along for the ride.
The 29-year-old Euphoria star has released a new holiday ad for Syrn, her lingerie and loungewear brand, that lovingly recreates some of the most famous moments from the 1990 Christmas classic Home Alone. The video, shared on Instagram this week, opens the brand’s seasonal “Holiday Shop” with the first of four planned collection drops.
The Aftershave Scene, Syrn Style
The centerpiece of the ad is Sweeney’s take on the film’s most quoted moment: Kevin McCallister’s disastrous first encounter with his dad’s aftershave. Wearing a navy blue top under a cropped cardigan, Sweeney stands before a bathroom mirror, splashes liquid on her face, slaps her cheeks, and lets out the character’s signature open-mouthed scream — hands pressed to her face, just like Macaulay Culkin’s iconic pose from the movie’s posters.
Burgundy Loungewear, a White Dog, and a Giant Sundae
The tribute doesn’t stop at the bathroom. In another scene, Sweeney appears in a burgundy loungewear set holding a small white dog, her eyes going wide as a shadowy figure moves behind a curtain — a playful nod to the home-invasion storyline and the film’s bumbling burglars.
Later, she settles into a leather chair in front of a television with an enormous ice cream sundae, echoing Kevin’s gleeful junk-food feast while home alone.
Syrn captioned the video on Instagram: “The Holiday Shop is officially open. Shop Hibernation Nation early access NOW.” The collection — part of the brand’s holiday line — includes cable-knit sweaters, cropped tanks, shorts, cardigans, lounge pants, and even sweaters for dogs.
Four Drops, Four Worlds
The Home Alone tribute is only the opening chapter. Syrn’s Holiday Shop will roll out through four separate drops, each framed as its own “world”: Comfy (which the Home Alone ad launches), followed by Seductress, Playful, and Romantic. Earlier holiday videos from the brand drew on other Christmas classics, including How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Nightmare Before Christmas — one earlier ad featuring Sweeney in Cindy Lou Who-inspired looks stirred debate online.
Fans Catch the References — and Some Raise Eyebrows
Viewers were quick to spot the movie nods. “I just realized that this is a reference to the movie Home Alone,” one commenter wrote, while another joked, “Who on earth would leave Sydney Sweeney home alone this Christmas?” Others praised the products themselves, with fans saying they wanted the burgundy set.
Not all the reaction was celebratory. Some social media users questioned the choice to reference characters from children’s films in a lingerie campaign, a debate that also followed the earlier Grinch-inspired looks.
From Hollywood to Founder
Syrn officially launched in January 2026, marking Sweeney’s move from actress to founder. In a Cosmopolitan interview, she described her design philosophy: her design team is all women, her models span a wide range of body types, and she insists on wearing everything herself before it goes into production. “I want to see it on every body,” she said. “I can’t be the only model.”
The brand debuted with a collection called Seductress and offers dozens of bra sizes — a deliberate play for inclusivity in a category Sweeney says she struggled with herself growing up.
