Trump to Attend Alabama-Georgia Football Clash October 10
President Donald Trump is making college football Saturdays a presidential tradition. At his Friday night midterm rally in Mobile, Alabama, he announced he will return to the state on October 10 to watch the Crimson Tide take on the Georgia Bulldogs in one of the season’s biggest games.
A Top-10 Showdown in Tuscaloosa
The matchup is everything a football fan could want: No. 2 Georgia versus No. 7 Alabama, two powerhouses colliding at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Trump broke the news himself to the cheering Mobile crowd.
“I love the people of Alabama… we love Alabama. We love it so much that I’ll be here again next Saturday to watch a football game between Georgia and Alabama. They say it’s gonna be a good game,” Trump said. When he asked the arena who they were pulling for, the answer was unanimous: the Crimson Tide.
Second Saturday in a Row
The Alabama-Georgia game will be Trump’s second college football appearance in three weeks. The previous Saturday, he took a trip to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville to watch Texas face Tennessee in a top-25 showdown, with the Longhorns winning 20-17. During the first quarter, Trump was shown on the stadium’s big screen and received a warm response from the crowd.
The back-to-back football weekends come in the middle of the president’s 32-day midterm campaign blitz — suggesting the stops are as much about cultural connection as relaxation.
Why Presidents and Football Mix
Trump has long understood the politics of the stadium. College football Saturdays in the South are cultural touchstones, and appearing in the stands puts the president in front of tens of thousands of voters in their element — no teleprompter required.
Alabama, where Trump carried the state by a wide margin in 2024, is friendly territory. The visit also reinforces his relationship with the state that hosted his first mega-rally back in 2015, a history he celebrated at Friday’s rally.
A Fun Break in a Busy Campaign
Between rallies in Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Alabama, the president’s schedule is relentless. The October 10 football trip gives supporters another chance to see him — this time in a setting where the biggest debate is whether the Tide can stop the Bulldogs.
Kickoff is still days away, but one thing is already clear: Tuscaloosa’s crowd will be one of the most-watched in America.
